The Viennese producer and DJ trio - DJ Buzz, The Bionic Kid & DJ Zuzee - expanded the borders of Hip-Hop and dared to make trips to new musical territories without losing their orientation and spontaneity in their style of production. Live elements and sample-related production have always been a major part. A dash of turntablism habit has always given their projects its very own special flavor.

In 1997, the DJ´s founded the trio with the (especially for Germans) complicated name; a combination of the slang-term „wax“ (for vinyl record), illusion and solution.

They dropped their debut single „Nachtschattengewächs feat. Manuva“ in 1999, an underground classic since the first day. The German Hip-Hop mag Juice also voted the tune into their all-time top 10 of German Hip-Hop records.

With their debut album - „The Smart Blip Experience“ - they easily found their way to German record crates and living rooms. By that time, their very own interpretation of turntablism & Hip-Hop was unique in the Middle-European area, plus helped them winning the Austrian music award „Amadeus“ in the category FM4 Alternative Act 2001.

The basics for today's collective and network Supercity happened to be the project Supercity Soundsystem, a live (Hip-Hop) supergroup, originating of the two crews Waxolutionists and Austrian rap pioneers Total Chaos. Together with friends and artists Wisdom & Slime, Mc Funke and Dephjoe, they rocked festivals, concert halls and clubs all over in 2002.
The first single, released from their second long player „Plastic People“ in 2002, was also entitled Supercity. A top player in the 2002 FM4 Charts, featuring guests such as Manuva, Dephjoe, Fiva Mc & Vierzueins from Munich and Philly's Schoolz Of Thought.

The remix joint RE: WAX (2003, feat. Stereotyp, i-wolf, Mark B, D.Kay & others), was followed by their fourth album Counterfight, released in 2004. It was the first long player, showing their international touch and attitude a bit clearer: DJ Vadim, UK rap legend Blade, Ty, Lyric L and many more appeared on their guest list.

After and during their first four albums, numerous remixes & compilation joints followed. Working, remixing and producing with and for artists like Sofa Surfers, Stereotype, André Heller, Ray Cokes, Dave Ghetto, Mystic, Dj Vadim, Hezekiah, Blade, Ty, Lyric L, Killa Kela, Hygher Baby and many more, they enjoyed great airplay on Austria's No.1 independent radio FM4, appearances on the Worldwide Show, Solid Steel Radio, Radio Magnetic and various German shows like BTTB.  Being massively present in magazines and the web, the sound of the Waxolutionists gained friends all over the world - from New Zealand to Japan along to Mexico.

In 2007 the Waxos, as they´re called by their fans, celebrated their 10 years jubilee and started working on the fifth album „We Paint Colors“. Regarding each one of these gentlemen – they´re busy bees. A short introduction to the characters:


Who´s behind the beat?

Zuzee aka Andreas Zuza (born 1975 in Vienna) is an Austrian DJ icon, also handled as the unofficial heritage of Vienna´s old school superstar DJ DSL.
Knowing him better, fooling around and playing tricks are his daily business. Nowadays he also prefers cooking stuff, but even more eating it. A mad record collector and vinyl junk since the late 80ies, like Obelix – but in the record store ;) During the 90ies he was part of the B-Boy Crew „B-Boy Soul Tribe“, later host and resident of the mini club outfit „Gemischte Platte“, until now live DJ for the jazz trio „Drechlser“ and again on stage together with the Viennese break dance/musical show „Soul Asphalt“. www.myspace.com/zuzee

BNCKD (Bionic Kid) aka Felix Bergleiter joined our planet in 1977. 
Music always seemed to be an important part to him, since his parents are musicians too. After playing classical piano for nine years, he started his first adventures in Hip-Hop and  Djing. Since 1993 the turntables and a mixer are a fix part of his interior designs.
Moreover: addicted to TV series, part time beau-couse and cat fanatic.
As a club promoter he organized and worked for the Hip-Hop / D&B Hybrid „Proceed?“ @ Vienna's world famous club Flex in 2005 & 2006. Afterwards he was part of the Broken Beat & House Joint venture „Detroitjazzin“ @ Vienna´s Camera Club and in 2008 he co-founded the minimal techno happening „Pssst! Wir feiern...“.
Besides the Brokenbeat / House Imprint „Circus“ (together with the Twintowas), BNCKD   plays within the jazz combo „Forms Of Plasticity“, jams along with the session outfit „60Minits of Funk“ and, together with Kido Soon and Thomas de Martin, hosts the radio show „313“ on Vienna's radio channel „Superfly.fm“. www.myspace.com/bnckd

By the age of eight, DJ Buzz aka Christoph Böck (Vienna, 1976) got his first record (a break dance compilation) from his uncle.
Soon enough, this should play a huge part in his life:
The basics for a massive record collection, a DJ career and the love for music. A technical geek, workaholic, red bull junkie and meanwhile also part of the cooking friends´ triumvirate. Howsoever, the main part in his life is the „Buzzment Studio“, realized and built up from 2005 to 2007. Besides Waxolutionists he´s producing, mixing and mastering for other bands and artists, such as L´Enfant Terrible, Kamp, Die Vamummtn and many more. In 2007 he dropped his instrumental / beat album „Episode One“ on Sunshine.
On Personal Records a 7” trilogy followed up, which also gets released this year as a limited collectors box. A future classic, also out on Personal Records 2009:
DJ Buzz and The Cosmic War Of The Planets; an audio – video remake of a rare and  very old US/Italo science fiction movie, a „must have, see and hear“ for 2009!

Besides all these projects DJ Buzz and BNCKD manage and run the weblog, collective and small label Supercity, together with rapper and co-founder Manuva.
Since January 2008 this network is the home base for artists like beat smith Brenk, Viennese slang wunderkinds Die Vamummtn, the musicians and producers Twintowas, who´re also part of the Waxos live combo, and the German producer duo JR&PH7, who drop their debut „The Standard“ (feat. Guilty Simpson, Black Milk, Edo.G, Oddisee and more) end of March 2009 on Supercity.
